What is the care to share Befriending project?
It is an opportunity for you to become a volunteer and visit disabled or isolated people in their own homes. You woud meet on a weekly basis to listen and talk with a befriending person. You will have ongoing support from WearAble staff. You will be paid all expenses incurred when home visiting.

To become a befriender you will need to
- Be reliable and committed
- Have patience and understanding
- Give time, provide companionship
- Attend Training
- Have references checked
- Undergo a Criminal Record Bureau Check[enhanced]
- Follow a Code of Conduct

Training
What Training will i need to do?
You will need to take part in a range of relevant training. This will include various sessions including the following
- Roles and boundaries of a befriender
- Skills and experiences
- Basic First Aid
- Disability Awareness
- Communication
